Process Development
The process development is the result of the optimization of a multi-stage synthesis .
It is important to visualize the whole process so as to simplify it’s various stages. Examples of components affecting these various stages include solvent compatibility within different stages, easier refinement at certain stages and successive reactions in "one-pot". A change in one parameter can lead to significant consequences on previous or subsequent reactions.
The process development results from several imperatives:
The availability of raw materials
The compatibility with our industrial environment
The economic viability of each stage
The evaluation of risks
The control of the effluents
This process development is necessary when a quantity of at least several hundreds of grams must be produced.
